Sworn Officer Training

This section of the Academy is responsible for managing all training functions conducted by and/or for Division sworn officers. To accomplish this task, the following duties are performed: 

  • conduct training needs analysis
  • update student performance objectives and lesson plans
  • manage and conduct basic peace officer training, complying with all Ohio Peace Officer Training Council regulations
  • develop and administer contemporary in-service training courses for local law enforcement officers on a regional and central basis
  • develop and prepare multi-media training programs
  • coordinate the field training officer program
  • administer all communications relating to training of Division sworn officers manage all training records for sworn officers
