Troopers arrest three suspects, recover three stolen vehicles

MASON– Three suspects from Columbus are facing felony charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers recovered three stolen vehicles following a traffic stop in Warren County.

Troopers stopped a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox for a speed violation on Interstate 71 northbound near Kings Mills Road in Warren County at 7:45 p.m. on July 18. The vehicle, being operated by a 15-year-old female, and the license plate had both been reported stolen.

While conducting the traffic stop, a second vehicle, a 2006 Dodge Charger, pulled up and the driver exited the vehicle. The driver was ordered back into the vehicle by the trooper and the suspect driver left quickly from the scene. The trooper called in the description of the vehicle and it was located almost immediately at a nearby restaurant by officers with the Mason Police Department and Warren County Sheriff’s Office. Upon initial investigation it was discovered that a third vehicle, a 2009 Toyota Camry, located nearby, was also involved. Both the driver of the Charger and the Camry did not have a driver’s license and both were taken into investigative custody.

The juvenile driver of the Equinox is being held at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center and was charged with two-counts of receiving stolen property, one as a fourth-degree felony and one a fifth-degree felony. The driver of the Charger, Maurice L. White, 19, and the driver of the Camry, Keionnaa L. Hughes, 19, were incarcerated in the Warren County Jail and charged with grand theft, a felony of the fourth-degree.
