MARIETTA – Escaped Southeastern Correctional Facility inmate, Justin M. Cline, 21, was apprehended today at approximately 3:12 p.m. in Marietta.
A 2002 Chevrolet Suburban was located by Marietta police officers abandoned in Marietta off Harmar Street, which is a residential area. A short time later, officers from the Marietta Police Department spotted Cline, and a short foot pursuit ensued. Marietta police officers apprehended Cline off of 300 Harmar Street. Assisting in the apprehension were the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Oho State Highway Patrol.
While processing the abandoned vehicle, investigators recovered a 9 mm handgun, believed to belong to the owner of the vehicle, in the glove box. Ammunition rounds were also located in the glove box along with the firearm.
Patrol investigators said that sometime after 9:00 p.m. yesterday Cline escaped from the Southeastern Correctional Facility in Fairfield County. Cline was incarcerated at the facility on a second-degree felony Engage Corrupt Acts charge.
Cline will be incarcerated in the Washington
County Jail.
