MONROE - A West Carrollton man is scheduled to appear in Butler County Court today after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers arrested him for attempting to convey drugs into the Lebanon Correctional Institution.
Troopers charged Lawrence E. Reynolds, 27, with attempting to convey drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility and possession of heroin both third-degree felonies.
Department of Rehabilitation and Correction investigators along with state troopers gathered information and determined Reynolds was actively involved in conveying drugs into the Lebanon Correctional Institution. Reynoldswas arrested Wednesday morning after taking possession of several grams of heroin intended to be conveyed into the institution.
Reynolds was incarcerated in the Butler County jail. If convicted, he could face 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates criminal activity on state owned and leased property.
