Patrol low-manpower OVI checkpoint on State Route 309 in Allen County tonight
LIMA – The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lima Post, in conjunction with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Patrol’s Van Wert Post, and the Patrol’s Findlay Post, announced today that a low-manpower OVI checkpoint will be held from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. tonight on State Route 309 in Lima.

The low-manpower OVI checkpoint, funded by fines from impaired drivers and other federal funding, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers this weekend.

The checkpoint will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol related injury and fatal crashes.

If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink, don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired.
