Sergeant Gockstetter to serve as Patrol spokesperson

COLUMBUS – Sgt. Brett Gockstetter, of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Fremont Post, has transferred to the Public Affairs Unit as part of a 90-day program, in which he will temporarily serve as a spokesperson for the Patrol.

Originally from Wakeman, Sgt. Gockstetter graduated from Western Reserve High School in 1994. In 1998, he graduated from Ashland University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He entered the Academy in October of that year as a member of the 132nd Class. He received his commission in April 1999 and was assigned to the Sandusky Post, where he earned the Post Trooper of the Year award in 2001. In February 2005, he was promoted to Sergeant and transferred to the Mansfield Post. He transferred to the Fremont Post in January 2006.

Sgt. Gockstetter currently resides in Norwalk.
