Patrol seizes cocaine in Preble County
traffic stop valued at $1.3 million

DAYTON – Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 13 kilos of cocaine, valued at $1.3 million, during a traffic stop yesterday in Preble County. The two suspects will be arraigned today in Preble County Common Pleas Court on felony charges associated with the case.

Nancy Hernandez-Ordonez, 22, and Allyson Marquez, 18, both of Chicago, IL, were each charged with first-degree felony possession of cocaine and fifth-degree felony possession of criminal tools.

A trooper stopped the 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Nancy Hernandez-Ordonez for following to closely on Interstate 70 east near milepost 6 in Preble County at 10:37 a.m. yesterday. An Ohio State Highway Patrol drug-detection canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed 13 kilos of cocaine inside the rear driver’s side door.

Both suspects were incarcerated in the Preble County Jail. The vehicle was seized for state forfeiture.

If convicted, each suspect could face up to 11 years in prison and up to a $22,500 fine.

Through September 2006, state troopers had seized nearly 4.8 million grams of illegal narcotics, valued at $42.8 million.
