Hamilton woman arrested for illegal drug conveyance at Warren Correctional Institution
LEBANON – A Hamilton woman is scheduled to appear in Lebanon Municipal Court today after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers arrested her yesterday for conveying drugs into the Warren Correctional Institution.

Troopers charged Melody Thompson, 19, with conveying drugs onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third-degree felony.

Troopers and Department of Rehabilitation and Correction investigators obtained information that Thompson would be conveying drugs to her boyfriend during a scheduled visit. When she arrived for her visit, troopers initiated a search warrant and Thompson surrendered two small packages containing approximately 2.7 grams of marijuana.

Thompson was incarcerated in the Warren County Jail. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates criminal activity on state-owned and leased property.
