Reward increased for information assisting in the arrest of escaped inmate John Parsons

CHILLICOTHE – The Federal Bureau of Investigation has authorized the payment of a $15,000 reward for information which leads to the arrest of John W. Parsons. Crime Stoppers of Southern Ohio and Central Ohio has increased its reward from $7,000 to $10,000, bringing the total reward being offered to $25,000.

A multi-agency task force, including local, state, and federal law enforcement, is continuing their search for escaped inmate John W. Parsons, who escaped from the Ross County Jail around 1:00 p.m. on July 29.

Parsons has brown hair, brown eyes, mustache, and goatee. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds. He also has a large tattoo of angel wings across the back of his neck.

The task force includes the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Chillicothe Police Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, U.S. Marshal’s Office, and Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
