Patrol reminds motorists to plan and prepare for more severe winter weather driving
COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reminding motorists to use caution and plan for slow travel during forecasted severe winter weather on Ohio roadways this weekend.

Unsafe speeds for condition and unsafe following distances contribute to most of the crashes during inclement conditions. Troopers are advising motorists to always keep safety as the first priority while traveling in a motor vehicle. Injuries and fatalities can be prevented by drivers and passengers securing themselves with safety belts and child safety seats. During winter weather and holiday travel, increased attention to safe driving techniques by avoiding distractions is also critical.
