Ohio State Highway Patrol joining Kentucky and Indiana for 12-hour commercial vehicle safety effort
What: Press conference detailing Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana commercial vehicle enforcement and safety awareness effort.
When: Wednesday, June 1, 11:00 a.m.
Where: Harrison, Indiana weigh station.
(Interstate 74 westbound just inside the Indiana border near milepost 171.)
Who: Representatives from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement, and Indiana State Police.

Ohio State Highway Patrol commercial vehicle enforcement personnel, including portable scale teams, will be joining counterparts from Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement and the Indiana State Police for a tri-state area commercial vehicle enforcement and safety awareness effort on June 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Focused attention will be paid to commercial vehicles regarding compliance to traffic safety laws including speeding and safety belt usage, overweight loads, and safety inspections. The overall goal of the 12-hour initiative is to encourage safe sharing of the roads between commercial vehicles and other vehicles in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Reporters interested in ride-alongs with Ohio State Highway Patrol personnel for this initiative are encouraged to contact the Patrol’s Public Affairs Unit on May 31 to coordinate logistics.
