Patrol seizes 484 pounds of marijuana worth $1.1 million
DAYTON – Three Arizona men are scheduled to appear in the Preble County Municipal Court today after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 484 pounds of marijuana on Interstate 70 in Preble County last Friday.

Phoenix residents Alex D. Bojorquez, 44, Miguel A. Saaveda, 53, and Gerardo L. Baldenegro, 42, were each charged with trafficking of marijuana, a third-degree felony.

Troopers stopped a 1999 Dodge pickup truck, driven by Bojorquez, for marked lanes and following too close violations on eastbound Interstate 70, near milepost 12, in Preble County at 11:31 a.m. Friday. A Patrol drug-detecting canine alerted to the Dodge and a probable cause search revealed 484 pounds of marijuana in the bed of the pickup truck. The marijuana has an estimated street value of approximately $1.1 million.

Bojorquez, Saaveda, and Baldenegro were incarcerated at the Preble County Jail. If convicted, each could face up to five years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
