Patrol seizes 11 pounds of BC Bud marijuana worth $488,000
ELYRIA – A Toronto man will appear in the Oberlin Municipal Court today after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 11 pounds of BC Bud marijuana on Interstate 80 in Lorain County yesterday.

Philbert A. Reid, 34, of Toronto, was charged with possession of marijuana, a third-degree felony.

Troopers stopped a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Reid, for a speed violation on eastbound Interstate 80, near milepost 139, in Lorain County at 8:43 a.m. yesterday. A Patrol drug-detecting canine alerted to the Cavalier and a probable cause search revealed 11 pounds of BC Bud marijuana in duffle bags in the trunk. The marijuana has an estimated street value of approximately $488,000.

Reid was incarcerated at the Lorain County Jail. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
