Troopers apprehend Ross Correctional Institution escapee
CHILLICOTHE – Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Chillicothe Post arrested escaped inmate Billy W. Pearce near a wooded area in Chillicothe yesterday morning.

At 7:38 a.m. yesterday, troopers received a report of an individual matching the description of Pearce, 25, at a Wal-Mart store in Chillicothe. Troopers and officers from the Chillicothe Police Department, Ross Correctional Institution, and Chillicothe Correctional Institution surrounded a wooded area near local department stores to contain Pearce.

After a short search, troopers discovered Pearce hiding in a concrete culvert. He was taken into custody and later released to officers from the Ross Correctional Institution.

Pearce was serving a four-year sentence at the Ross Correctional Institution for breaking and entering and theft. He was originally discovered missing on Saturday at 9:00 p.m.
