SWANTON – Two Michigan men will appear in the Bryan Municipal Court today after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 40 pounds of marijuana, valued at $90,800, on Interstate 80 in Williams County.

Matthew C. Curtis, 27, of Sterling Heights, Mich., and David M. Brannack, 25, of Shelby Township, Mich., were each charged with trafficking of marijuana, a third-degree felony.

Troopers stopped a 2003 Ford Taurus driven by Curtis, for a following too close violation on eastbound Interstate 80, milepost 16, in Williams County at 10:45 a.m. yesterday. A probable cause search revealed 40 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle. The marijuana has an estimated street value of approximately $90,800.

Curtis and Brannack were incarcerated at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio. If convicted, each could face up to 5 years in prison, and up to a $10,000 fine.
