Trotwood woman arrested for illegal drug conveyance

DAYTON – The Ohio State Highway Patrol arrested a Trotwood woman yesterday for attempting to convey marijuana into the Montgomery Education and Pre-Release Center.

Troopers charged Erica L. Montgomery, 30, with illegal conveyance onto the grounds of a correctional facility, a third-degree felony.

Troopers arrested Montgomery at 12:15 p.m. yesterday after a Department of Rehabilitation and Correction employee observed Montgomery in possession of one balloon of marijuana.

Montgomery was incarcerated at the Montgomery County Jail. She is scheduled to appear in the Montgomery County Court. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates criminal activity on state owned and leased property.
