Lima woman arrested for illegal drug conveyance
LIMA – A Lima woman will appear in the Lima Municipal Court this afternoon after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers arrested her this morning for attempting to convey marijuana into the Allen Correctional Institution.

Troopers charged Alesha D. Allen, 24, with conveying illegal narcotics onto the grounds of a correctional facility, a third-degree felony.

Troopers and Department of Rehabilitation and Correction investigators obtained information that Allen planned to convey illegal drugs into the Allen Correctional Institution. Troopers arrested Allen at 5:42 a.m. today after she delivered four ounces of marijuana in a fast food bag on to the grounds of the institution.

Allen was incarcerated at the Allen County Jail. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates criminal activity on state owned and leased property.
