Troopers charged Teresa Day, 24, with illegal conveyance of marijuana onto the grounds of a correctional facility, a third-degree felony.

Troopers and Department of Rehabilitation and Correction investigators obtained information that Day planned to convey illegal drugs into the Southeastern Correctional Institution. Troopers arrested Day at 9 a.m. last Thursday after finding three balloons, containing 10 grams of marijuana in her possession.

Day was incarcerated at the Fairfield County Jail. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
