Patrol names subject
In-car video of Clark County pursuit released

COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Highway Patrol negotiators are in contact with, Greg D. Thompson, 42, who is located in a house on McConkey Road in Clark County, and who has indicated he is armed. The in-car video of yesterday’s pursuit was released today.

Yesterday at 8:09 a.m., troopers were investigating a possible stolen vehicle in the westbound rest area of Interstate 70. Thompson fled and exited the interstate through a right-of-way fence and into a farm field. Troopers located the stolen vehicle at a nearby residence and discovered ammunition in the vehicle.

The FAA has issued temporary flight restrictions of five miles and 5,000 feet.

The Patrol’s Special Response Team (SRT), Aviation section, troopers, and canine units from Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, and the Columbus Police Department were involved in the search for the subject.
