Description According to her obituary, Elizabeth (Betty) I. Hassan, 77, also known as Betty Black, was born January 20, 1928, in St. Clairsville, Ohio, to Lynn E. and Dorthea L. Black.

Betty grew up in Ohio, attending Bexley High School in Columbus. Betty occasionally spent time at work with her father, Lynn, who founded and was the first Superintendent and Colonel of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP). She enjoyed dressing up in her OSP uniform and riding police motorcycles and accompanying her father on various assignments.

She passed away in 2005 in California, where she made her home for nearly 60 years.
